Farewell to 2006

It is with a bit of sadness but mostly the readiness to move ON----- that we say farewell to 2006. Thank you to all of our clients, the families, the kids, the pets, the brides and grooms, it was a wonderfully successful year and we have you all to thank for it.
We, along with the rest of the world, sit and feel a bit sad as we think of the things and the people we have said goodbye to this year.
Let's look ahead to 2007 on this New Year's Eve. May it be a year of blessings, of health and love, of positive energy and change for the better.
Here's to YOU, with our gratitude. We leave 2006 with a look at Kiener Plaza dressed up in it's holiday lights, we'll miss it sparkling with lights!

Chrissy & Chip

What a wonderful way to end 2006---- we get to welcome Chrissy and Chip to the wedding family at Bobbi Brinkman Photography! They are a wonderful couple---- and so darned organized to boot! We will be watching though Chip---- WILL YOU get your living space cleared out and sparkling in time to welcome your new bride to your digs??? :) No doubt!
^_^_^_^_^_
We hope that everyone had a wonderful Christmas or Hanukkah and are getting settled in that weird week in between Christmas and New Year's Eve. Don't you hate it when you are coming down from a wonderful celebration and trying to get back into the work groove and here comes another excuse to eat too much, drink a glass of champagne and take another date off work! We will all support each other, we'll get back into the swing and enter 2007 with a bang.
^_^_^_^_^_
We are focused on the upcoming Wedding Show at America's Center in a couple of weeks. If you still need discount tickets let us know we have a few left.
Bobbi reports that Prince and Hana have attacked the stuffed snowmen upstairs again. Silly dogs, good thing they are adorable. We'll have photos later of the mess, I must admit they are pretty funny.

Angels

Angels abound.......... just ask us!

Of course it is THAT time of year, we're half way through Hanukkah and only a few short days to Christmas but the signs of angels are everywhere. Even when things don't look like you think they should, even when it might even be bleak-- have faith! I got an email the other day from Oprah.com and one of the things they said was what we all know; this time of the year psychiatrists and psychologists are having a very busy time of it---- we as a nation have trouble during the holidays. How sad is that?

If angels are around us and blessings are in our lives, why is it that we all get a little crazy? The problem is, we're too darned busy to notice the good things! Shopping, baking, wrapping, delivering, visiting, traveling, calling, writing, addressing, cooking and being just plain frantic.

Let's start the Peace, it begins with us. Many of our clients share the sentiment that somehow we have lost our resolve that THIS year will be different, we are going to be focused, centered, relaxed, calm and in the Zone. So, re-focus, re-center---- be peaceful.

If you haven't given to a charitable organization of your choice, please do so--- they are always in need, especially this time of year. We have some suggestions for 0ur 2006 favorites a few entries back, and we always welcome your suggestions as well.

On a practical note, the latest edition of our Wedding Newsletter is available, if you aren't on our mailing list and would like one please email us at info@BobbiBrinkmanPhotography.com and ask for one, we'll get it right out to you.

Take a breath and look for your angels---- leave us a comment here and share your stories, we can all keep each other watching for blessings.

Welcome Julie & Angelo

We love to welcome new couples to the wedding family at Bobbi Brinkman Photography, it is always an honor and a special treat! Julie and Angelo came to see us and we all just had an instantaneous 'click'! Welcome, welcome, welcome! We are all delighted. The rest of the staff is now very anxious to meet them as well since we had so much fun telling everyone how much we enjoyed this down to earth, happy, and much in love couple. The icing on the cake (no pun intended) is that we adore October weddings, they are almost always weather wonderful so their wedding date is already eagerly anticipated.

While Bobbi works in the studio today getting ready the last minute Christmas orders, Danielle is finishing her Christmas shopping. Scott is with his daughter enjoying this glorious and moderate weather. Becki is trying to finish decorating and gift wrapping. Jeanetta is at home wrestling with her Christmas Tree. Leslie is enjoying Hanukah with her family in New York. And Tina is up to her ears making a pumpkin pie for the musical at church and making candy and cookies to share with neighbors and friends. (Are you on her list????)

We'd like to share a fabulous holiday recipe in the spirit of blessings:

***Holiday Marshmallows***

*Grease an 8x12 non metal pan and set aside

*bloom 3 packages unflavored gelatin with 1/2 cup of cold water in the bowl of a Kitchen-Aid fitted with the whisk attachment

*Combine 1 cup of light Karo syrup, 1 1/2 cups of granulated sugar, 1/4 tsp. of kosher salt in a saucepan. Over medium heat, without stirring, bring the mixture to 240 degrees on a candy thermometer. Remove from the heat.

*Pour the sugar mixture into the dissolved gelatin on low speed, then turn up the speed to high and whip until the mixture is very thick and fluffy (about 15 minutes). Add 1 tablespoon of great vanilla at the end and combine thoroughly.

*Pour this marshmallow batter into the greased pan and with damp hands smooth it out uniformly. (Or a reasonable fascimile of.....)

*Let this stand uncovered for a day---- it needs to set up, it is VERY sticky when first poured out.

*Turn it out on a board dusted with confectioners sugar. Dust the top side with the sugar. Cut into pieces with a damp knife. Roll all sides in powdered sugar and store at room temperature.

YUM! You can make peppermint marshmallows using peppermint extract and whirl the batter gently before turning out with red food coloring. You can also add other flavorings and/or toppings.

Now, get in the kitchen and be a blessing!

Thanks Tourists!

Bobbi is breathing a bit easier today............the House Tour is OVER! Her home was one of the featured homes for the Discovering Options Gingerbread House Tour yesterday, and the halls were definitely decked! A great cause (www.DiscoveringOptions.org) and a lot of fun was had by all. Jeanetta baked cookies for the tourists, how lucky were they? Thanks so much to all of the BBP clients that stopped by to say hello and enjoy the tour, as always we are very much aware that we have the best clients in the world! For those of you that missed the tour it isn't too late to make a much needed donation to Discovering Options, a local charity that benefits kids at risk.

Now the studio is back to work on Holiday Portraits, creating more wonderful custom holiday greeting cards and meeting with brides and grooms.

Stay warm and dry on this gray wet Monday!

Light a Candle

Time to Give back, it is the holiday season and there are so many in this country that aren't going to have much joy. If we all join together and Light A Candle--- we can make a difference.

There are many great charities and places you can give as well as volunteer. We humbly make a few of our favorite suggestions for places to make a difference, to give:

Discovering Options: A local St. Louis organization that works with at risk youth. "Many students in St. Louis Public Schools live with multiple risk factors that are predictors for drug abuse: poverty, family conflict, a lack of commitment to school, behavior problems, and neighborhoods where drugs are easily accessible. These all make a child more likely to use and abuse drugs and alcohol. Discovering Options provides at-risk students with supportive and life-enriching programs to prevent drug abuse. The effectiveness of our programs has been verified by research studies. These programs facilitate positive change in the lives of students we serve. St. Louis Public elementary and middle schools partner with Discovering Options to provide our services to their students. If you have a child in a St. Louis Public elementary or middle school, ask the principal if they have become a Discovering Options PREP school. The curriculums we use are proven to work. Our staff is professional, experienced and dedicated. Our mentors are committed and receive individualized support and training. Everyone at Discovering Options, both employees and volunteers, is focused on helping our students discover options for making positive decisions about their lives. " www.discoveringoptions.org. They are sponsoring a FABULOUS house tour this weekend to benefit the charity, tickets are still available through MetroTix or by calling Discovering Options at 314-721-8116. Have fun on the house tour and know that 100% of the proceeds go to this program that benefits local kids.

Kathy J. Weinman Shelter for Battered Women and their Children P.O. Box 5852 St. Louis MO 63134 Business #: 314-423-1117 Hotline/Crisis: 314-423-1117 : Unfortunately domestic violence increases during the holiday season and women and children are impacted the most.

The St. Louis Area Foodbank: The St. Louis Area Foodbank has a service territory that encompasses 14 counties (including St. Louis City) in eastern Missouri and 12 counties in southwestern Illinois. Our mission to feed hungry people includes people in all 26 of those counties. www.stlfoodbank.org.

Light a Candle------------- there is always someone that needs your help, and every little bit helps. Call or email one of our suggestions for giving, or contribute to your favorite charity. Be a blessing to someone today.

Celebrate?

Okay.......... we hear it EVERYWHERE----- let the holidays begin, let the good times roll, time to Celebrate!!! Not so easy for those (bless them) that still don't have power here in St. Louis, but the lights and heat are coming back on and as it does, and we thaw out--- all around us is the deer in the headlights look that says, Christmas is HOW MANY DAYS AWAY??? Friends Laine and Giuliano just got their power back on last night and now with their fabulous home on the house tour next weekend they are in a mad dash to get the decorating finished.

For the rest of us, relax--- take a breath! Get done what you can and let the rest of it go. No worries! And let's all make a vow right here and now, no matter what your religious affiliation or where you are from, lets remember to keep the important things first and foremost. Family, Friends and the Divine. We will all celebrate together, and take care of each other as we can. Sounds like the last line of a Zen card but it still holds true.

Get ready to celebrate! Start by counting your blessings and give what you can to those in need.

Holiday Portrait Smiles

I know I've mentioned how much we LOVE holiday portrait time! It's always so great to see everyone again! The Trottier's were in yesterday and bless their hearts to have come down to the Central West End when the weather was so cold. As you can see, this is one gorgeous family!

Bummer that the WinterFest was cancelled yesterday in the CWE.......... the sidewalks were still so icy, it was super cold, and there were still trees down everywhere. On the way to the studio yesterday morning a crew was working to remove a huge tree that had fallen on some poor soul's shiny new Lexus!

We've heard from clients in town and out of town that are touching base with everyone to see how they are faring in the aftermath of the storm. Once again it reminds us that our portrait families and brides and grooms are so wonderful.

I think that all St. Louisans are counting their blessings that things could have been worse. If the precipitation that fell as ice was snow we would have had 3 feet of the white stuff! We still have ice on the too heavy trees and many are still without power. All of us in the studio lost power in the storm with Bobbi's coming back up last. The studio itself was without power for a short time but is now nice and warm. And our weatherfolks are saying that the cold is here to stay with a flurry (no pun intended) of storms coming the week of Christmas.

Our hearts are breaking for those that are still without power, it has to be absolutely horrible. Get out there and check on friends neighbors, make sure that everyone has what they need--- be a blessing to someone today.

Laying Low

The national weather spotlighted St. Louis on the Today Show this morning saying that we could pick up one to two FEET of snow. FEET. Of SNOW. We've noticed that our local weather mavens have been, well let's be honest, they've been less than accurate of late. Frankly, I hope that the national weather is all wet too (no pun intended!) It is so nice to have the focus of the country on this fabulous town, we love that--- but maybe not for the sort of icky icy snowy yukky stuff they are saying is on the way. Time will tell. We have a rather full schedule of brides and holiday portraits over the next few days so we're hoping for the best. We just love seeing everyone for holiday portraits, it is so much fun. Meeting new brides is wonderful too, we have such a great time with them! So we'll hope that the roads hold and the weather is mellower than expected so that nobody has to reschedule, that is such a bother for them. One of our families coming in for their portraits tomorrow is heading on to Chicago for the weekend--- yikes, they say this storm is heading to Chicago next so they are facing a long trip!

Drive carefully---stay warm and dry---and keep your shovel and ice melt at the ready.

Hana and Prince

It is SO funny how many BBP Blog Readers ask about Hana and Prince (Hana top and Prince lower image) and how they are doing! It is true.............. they are dang cute. Well, the answer is that they are great having just celebrated their first birthdays. They still don't look too much like brother and sister, except that their playing and bickering sure makes that as clear as can be! Bobbi says that they are very well behaved pups but she feels kind of bad that they can't do incredible tricks like her friend Laine and Giuliano's dogs. To see a big Lab take a can and carefully carry it to the thirsty person who requests a beverage is something to see! Now THAT is a puppy trick. No, the dogs don't go to the studio because they would bark their nosy little heads off and we aren't in a free standing building any longer and need to be nice to our building neighbors now.
******************************************
The weatherpeople say that there is a nasty bad storm heading in the direction of St. Louis that will bring ice and snow and that our currently balmy temperatures will drop 30 to 4o degrees tomorrow! Last time we had the threat of weather, our forecasters were dead wrong so we are wondering if this time their alarmist attitudes might be right. Just in case, make sure your cars are stocked with salt and blankets and your homes are stocked with milk, eggs, bread and CHOCOLATE. Maybe a bottle of vino---- just in case!
Have a great day-----Happy Hump Day!

Colleen & John

Yesterday we were blessed to photograph the wedding of Colleen and John. They were married at Our Lady of Sorrows in South City where they met (such a romantic story!) Their ceremony was gorgeous and happy and light hearted, just as it should be. Their kids were an integral part of the day as was their family and we all had a great time in Forest Park before the reception. Who in the world could have guessed that the weather would be downright balmy on the last weekend in November here in usually cold and gray St. Louis. We arrived at the reception at the Forest Park Clubhouse to the sound of Irish music, an homage to family indeed! What a gorgeous, stylish, fabulous evening, everyone enjoyed themselves right down to the kids who win our award for the most well behaved kids EVER at a wedding! Tina who is self professed old school (and okay, just plain old) gives double points for yes ma'am's and they were in abundance! And Colleen, what an incredible woman! Maybe it is the fact that she isn't marrying at 23-------- or maybe it is just simply the fact that she is one of the kindest, warmest, most loving and truly fabulous women we have met. Colleen shown like a rare jewel throughout the day and John..... well soft spoken laid back John knew that he was the luckiest man on earth yesterday! Thanks to this couple and their family for allowing us the honor of being a part of their very special day. We very sincerely look forward to being part of this families lives as clients and more importantly as friends. Don't even get us started about how fantastic and fun the sisters were---------- oh my gosh!

Still Thankful!

It is still officially Thanksgiving Weekend, and you can be sure that we are all still THANKFUL! At the top of the list at BBP is the fact that we are thankful for our brides and grooms, our babies and children, our families and our corporate clients. We appreciate you very much!

***

While many of you continue your shopping marathon, or relax with family, or put up your Christmas decorations while the weather is so spectacular we will be shooting a wedding today, that of Colleen and John. You couldn't pick (or expect) such a gorgeous day on the last weekend in November for a wedding---- what a blessing!

***

Whatever you are doing today, enjoy---- and continue to count your blessings and be thankful.

Amy & Jason

What a great couple! Amy & Jason are wonderful, and so much fun! We can't wait for their wedding! The leaves were perfect in OUR location at Tower Grove Park---- can't say that for other places in the park where the leaves had fallen and many had blown away or the Park crew had already removed them. The only problem was that the gorgeous yellow leaves were under a grove of those Ginko looking trees.......... with the little persimmon like fruits that congregate on the ground in the fall. Those little fruity guys stink to high heaven------ blech! A small price to pay however for such gorgeous drifts of fall color.
Happy Monday----- the holiday countdown begins!!!!

Ashley Ashley Ashley

If you don't know that it is ALL about Ashley---- think again! Or nevermind----- this dynamic, energetic, creative and full of life senior will serve you notice! Ashley is an up and coming photojournalist from Nashville Tennessee who retained BBP to shoot her senior portraits. It was a cold, gray, rainy day but the photos turned out absolutely fabulous! We even got a slice of sunlight in the middle of the day to give us some gorgeous fall color shots.

**
Keep an eye out for this phenominal young woman, she is going to set this tired old world on it's ear!

Have a great Sunday!

Kathleen & Bryan

We were so pleased to have had the opportunity to photograph Kathleen and Bryan's wedding last Saturday! It was a lovely wedding and the couple and the family were so excited. This bride and groom were married at the gorgeous Kirkwood Presbyterian Church, the same church that Kathleen's parents were married in many years ago. That fact added to the very special day for all involved.
***
One of the challenges that arises in November weddings is that Daylight Savings Time has occurred and daylight rapidly departs at about 5 p.m. And it is dang cold! Regardless, the photos were gorgeous as you can see in the few samples of their special day above. We still found a way to visit some of St. Louis's most celebrated photo locations despite the light and the cold. Did we mention cold???? Oh yeah!
***
Have a fantastic Saturday leading up to Thanksgiving week. Everyone we know seems to be busy with grocery shopping for the hoopla next Thursday, running to holiday crafts fairs, and even trying to do their Christmas shopping. Those are the people we hate! :) Whatever you are doing, please enjoy your day!
***
Stay warm and be a blessing!

Long Time No Hear...........

Okay Okay Okay........... it's been way too long since I've blogged and I'm sorry! Really sorry! We've been extremely busy from St. Louis to Nashville and points in between---- weddings and engagement photos and families and seniors. Whew! So we'll try to make it up by adding a few more gorgeous images!
*****
The photos above were from Tovah and Josh's wedding, it was gorgeous and SO MUCH FUN! They had one of the best wedding parties ever and it was a fantastic day. The ceremony was at St. Ambrose which is such an incredibly beautiful church on The Hill, and the reception was at Favazza's Rose of the Hill. The bride and her family are friends of the Favazza's so you know that dinner was just extra special! (Yum~!) The wedding photos are nothing short of spectacular as you can see from the small sample above.
*****
We had lunch yesterday with one of our favorite brides, now a married lady, Elizabeth and her Mom. It was great, and we're all so sad that we don't have their wedding to look forward to anymore! Tina did have the Pepperoni Quiche (no idea why!!!) and comments that next time she is going to stay the boring lunch girl she always is. The white chocolate bread pudding was pretty fine however! We're so lucky to be able to lunch and kibbitz with clients, we think of all of them as friends. So............. let's have lunch! Call, we are always up for food and gossip!
*****
Back to the grind---------stay warm and dry in this awful St. Louis weather! We're pretty sick and tired of the cold and rain. If the weatherman is right (and thank heavens he almost never is) we are in for SNOW tomorrow. A couple inches of heavy, wet snow. The good news is that in the midst of the busy schedule we're keeping is that since the move to the Central West End and NOT having a freestanding studio any longer we won't have the days and days of decorating for the holidays and hanging ALL those lights. Danielle and I smile just thinking about it.

November Weddings

Many people will tell you that November is an 'iffy' month for weddings, and a number of brides are a bit afraid to tie the knot so late in the year. With October being one of the most popular wedding months in St. Louis, we sing the praises of November as well. You can almost always count on the weather being cool, the fall foliage is more than likely still holding (as it is now), and it is already beginning to have that feel of holiday excitement.

Today we capture a wonderful marriage celebration, that of Tovah and Josh. The skies might be a bit cloudy but the weatherman says not too cold. Their reception venue is one of our favorites for a warm and happy atmosphere.

Stay warm, relax, and have a fantastic weekend!

Just Don't Tell Us!

Yes we know.............. Christmas is officially 62 days away. Gulp. Gasp. Shudder. We are scheduling Holiday Family Portraits like crazy in addition to working with our fabulous brides and grooms and their families and somehow all we hear is the clock tick tick ticking. Have you seen the Christmas commercials on tv yet? Amazing! And for your pleasure (ha!) we present a fun website we found..... http://www.auburn.edu/~vestmon/xmas_cnt.htm. The Countdown to Christmas on the website. What a hoot, but I know that kids will be entertained, as well as the rest of us who can't believe how quickly the calendar pages run away! (This just proves once again that you can find ANYTHING on the Internet!)
And here we are in St. Louis in the CHILLY weather, only two days of November gone and it feels much later. It is darn cold when it comes right down to it. So the homage to what is left of Fall we present above a lovely photo of Tower Grove Park resplendent in it's foliage.
No matter what the countdown says, or the time of year, take the time to enjoy the day and be a blessing to someone!
"When you do things from your soul, you feel a river moving in you, a joy. " -Rumi

Happy Halloween!

Happy Halloween!

May your day be a celebration of FUN and SWEET surprises!

So enough of the inquiries as to why the blog entries took a brief hiatus! Although it is nice to know our readers are out there! Tina (who most of you know does the blog) was stung by a bee last weekend--- that little bug(ger) got her in the neck. Ouch indeed. To make matters worse she's allergic to all such beasties and didn't have her Epi-Pen with her when the sting happened. So, long story short is that it's been a rough road with a bit of down time involved. (Tina says "I love honey but I hate bees!") ...............Not very Zen of her eh?

Have a great Halloween! Here's hoping that you have a chance to give candy to a kid in costume, enjoy a great Fall day, and that you might find a nibble or two of a special treat for yourselves!

boo!

Cristina and Kenneth

Welcome Cristina and Kenneth! We are so pleased to have you as members of the family! Christina and Kenneth are planning a fall wedding at the Basilica in the Central West End and a reception at Kemoll's---- it will be a gorgeous day! Having met Mom and Grandma we can also tell that it will be a day of family, and fun and much happiness! We are looking forward to it and you know how time goes, it will be here before we know it.

More rain, more gray skies, more chilly weather. I don't want to hear the weather mavens saying one more word about being below normal on the rainfall! Stay warm, stay dry and keep a sunny outlook.

Most importantly GO CARDS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Do I hear Reindeer?

It is absolutely impossible to believe that the Holiday Season is almost upon us! I think that I might even hear reindeer! While all of us at BBP have been very, very good this year we can only hope that our wonderful clients can say the same! :)
The holiday set is soon to go up and we are getting ready to see so many of our favorite families here at the studio or in their own homes for photos in their finery. One of the absolute highlights of the year is to see everyone again, chit chat and catch up, and have the honor of creating those cool custom cards that everyone loves so much.
So call us! We might even have cookies! Eggnog! Did someone say fudge? We can't wait to see you!

Elizabeth and Mike

The only thing more captivating than the Shrine of St. Joseph last Saturday was the bride and groom Elizabeth and Mike. Their path to marry was less than easy, but they did persevere with faith and love and are now very happily wed. We had such a great time with this wonderful couple during the day and enjoyed their reception on The Hill as well. What a special day of celebration!

Tina is busy giving the Blog a bit of a refresher today--- gotta' love Blogger! We're also sending out the info for the Holiday 2006 Set and Portrait Info this week, the new set this year is sure to please and make the kids and families sparkle!

It is gray and rainy in St. Louis today and the game may not be played----- we will keep our fingers crossed and say GO CARDS!

Can you be too busy?

Can you be too busy indeed! Between family portraits (which have been great) and engagement photos (which are always fun)--- and weddings. Let's just say that we are just that, busy busy busy.

We got to meet Baby Tim on Sunday, the little guy is the son of Lori and Tim who are favorite past wedding clients. Lori and Tim own bragging rights to the most exotic honeymoon destination--- Tahiti. They stayed there for two glorious weeks and came home with a fantastic and unique souvenier, Baby Tim! He is an absolutely adorable little guy, the cutest dude ever!

The Today Show says that they sell 300,000 boxes of Pampers every day in America~ that is a LOT of diapers, and only one brand! I think our previous wedding clients are helping to up that ante................... who will be next?????????

Michelle and Mike

Michelle and Mike came to us as many of our brides do........ old friends, wonderful clients, and recent brides. Well, Michelle and Mike were sort of a combo of all of the above. Regardless how they arrived, we are really excited that they are part of the family! We can always tell ahead of time the 'personality' of a wedding and this one? Let's just say that we have every confidence that it will be romantic, fun, and that the bride and groom and families will be lots of fun to work with.

Lucky we are to be able to do what we love with people we have a great time with! Tomorrow is no exception as we will be capturing the wedding of Elizabeth and Mike. We have looked forward to their once in a lifetime event for a long time-- although no more than they have. This one promises to be very special as the road to their vows has had quite a few unplanned and sometimes scary twists and turns. We are keeping our fingers crossed for sunshine and great weather as we bring "Images from the Heart..." to life. That tagline will hold a very special meaning to Elizabeth and Mike for sure.

Have a great Friday! We finally have some sunshine here in St. Louis although the air is still a bit brisk. Not nearly as brisk as our engagement sessions were yesterday in the park---- 40 degrees in the middle of October, sheesh!

Teresa & Pierre

Pierre is a small town boy from a place in Minnesota so far north is is practically Canada and Teresa is a lovely young woman from Missouri, a very sweet couple that came to us from our favorite wedding planner "All Dressed in White". We are so excited to be able to welcome them to the wedding family and capture their special day with "Images from the Heart..." The icing on the cake is that we are able to work with Christy again, and that is a true pleasure.

Happy to have you aboard Teresa and Pierre, I'm sure we will enjoy a great relationship for years to come!

Rockin' Robyn

Last Saturday had us at the Marriott West with Robyn and Mark and their friends and family, all celebrating with the very happy newlyweds. We always love to shoot a wedding when the couple is so blissfully and obviously in love (and sadly, no this is not a given)--- and Robyn and mark certainly were. One of the highlights was the Father Bride dance. I have to say, it was the first time EVER to hear this song played and no amount of guessing or wagering could have brought us to the point where we would have had that collective 'aha' moment where we just knew what their song would be. It was "Rockin' Robin"--- that fun rock classic sometimes heard at wedding receptions but never (to us anyway) for this most auspicious dance. Robyn and her Dad really cut a rug, all smiles and such beaming happiness, WOW! It was great. We understand that Robyn and Mark are going to Hawaii on their honeymoon, bet they are quite happy they didn't leave the day after their wedding because of course the 6.6 magnitude earthquake hit the Big Island. The power was restored in about 18 hours and all seems well. By the time they arrive there should be a cool drink with an umbrella in it and maybe an order of sushi and chicken katsu as well. Aloha to Robyn & Mark, definitely a fantastic couple!

Thanks to all of the brides and grooms (and Mom's and Dad's in the mix) that we met at the Marriott on Sunday at the bridal show. Despite the gray and drizzly skies, and the abundance of people it was a great show. We talked ourselves hoarse as usual, but really enjoyed meeting everyone. We are looking forward to seeing you in the Studio, it will definitely be quieter and more relaxing to discuss your wedding vision.

Wedding Show

See you at the wedding show at the Marriott Airport, St. Louis BestBridal always does a great job putting together a mix of vendors. Today rumor has it that there will be h'ors d'oeuvres and beverages, can't go wrong with that! It might even lure a fiance or two away from the football game this afternoon! (Or maybe not!)

Have a fantastic Sunday!

Finally Friday

All of our brides today said------ "Yeaaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhhh, it is finally Friday!" And they all sigh, and then quickly say---- "oh, but you don't have weekends like the rest of us!" And yes ma'am, that is a fact!

Tomorrow has us photographing Mark and Robyn's wedding, the weather sounds as if it will be absolutely delightful! We're really looking forward to it.

Sunday, we will be at the St. Louis Best Bridal wedding show at the Airport Marriott. If you are going, please stop by and say hello! I'm sure it will be very busy but we'd love to see you.

Whatever you are doing for fun this weekend, have a great one! Enjoy!
