Mean Folk

Mean folk are everywhere, and we join the rest of you who are just flat sick and tired of them! Recently we've been aware of the impact of mean folks, our poor brides! But the bottom line is this, when you live with integrity and are filled with Grace---- at the end of the day you continue on, you keep on going and you are with the one you love, nothing will change that, even though our 'evil witches' might wish that to be the case. Things might happen around you, but you still have each other. Here is to love, to partnerships through thick and thin, or for better or worse!

Down with mean folks!

Let's all continue to be rivers of love and light, the mean folk are sick people and they may never go away--- but we will support each other and live wonderful lives.

Why's

It is raining again. Again.

The upside is that by weeks end the weather should be nicer both temperature wise and precipitation wise.

We were shooting an event yesterday and the buds on the trees are getting so nice and fat, it can only be a matter of time before our winter wardrobes are a thing of the past.

We're meeting with brides this afternoon, it is always so much fun! Hope you all stay warm and dry.

wedding tv

Whose 'Zilla? The entire staff (and most of the brides we know) watch the wedding shows on tv; you know the ones--- "Whose Wedding is it" and "Bridezilla" to name only two. We admit it, we're hooked by these shows. They are hilarious, ridiculous, unbelievable and sometimes truthful. Most times when we all gather to say "Did you seeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee that?" we just howl and say, "Oh boy, I'm so glad that one wasn't ours!". They are sometimes a rather unnatractive portrayal of the bride, the groom or the mother of the bride. Okay, most of the times it is an ugly view, but who is counting? Without a doubt we all wonder who actually WANTS to be known as a bridezilla? By and large we are the home of really wonderful brides, grooms and their families--- how lucky are we?

There are even hysterical (and sometimes a bit, well.................... edgy, for lack of a better word) websites out there, one such is http://www.goingbridal.com/, just too much! Funny, but too much! Let us know what great shows or websites we might be missing and we will share with everybody!

But, we will keep watching reality wedding tv, it is collectively our guilty pleasure!

Additions

New additions to our wedding family are always happy occasions! Today we are honored to welcome Tovah and Josh, welcome welcome welcome!!! We are all really looking forward to being a part of your special day, it will be so much fun!

The snow is melting very slowly, the weekend will warm to the 50's, who knew that would sound good. The daffodils, peonies and forsythia are not looking all that good, we hope that our spring won't be ruined by this late March blast of weather--------- now that would be a shame and a half.

Have a wonderful Wednesday, we're halfway to the weekend!

brrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr!

Snowflakes, cold, wind......... spring? Not even close but in BBP land it could have been much worse. We ended up with about an inch and the parking lot didn't get covered with the white stuff. Bobbi reports and Hana and Prince who don't like to go outside when the grass is wet REALLY don't like snow on the ground.

No snow days for us, we will be returning phone calls, seeing clients and packing up the last load from the old studio. (Although we were all hoping for 10 inches of snow, taking the day off to sit in p.j.'s, drink hot chocolate and pretend school is closed!)

Stay warm, and think spring--- we will be putting away our winter coats, gloves, hats and even the snow shovels in the near future!

spring sprung

Sprung is spring we think! The weather here in St. Louis doesn't look like the first day of Spring, and by the sound of it, that will get worse before it gets better! Instead of lovely spring breezes we are promised gray and cold, sleet and snow, and winter weather over the next couple of days. Our hearts are all yearning for sunshine and warmth, blossoms and breezes, and cute new shoes! Siiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiighs abound.....

We are however warmed and energized by having met so many great brides and grooms yesterday at the bridal fair, thanks to you all for stopping by. It is the first time in a long time when so many grooms were the self appointed "creative ones" that took responsibility for choosing wedding photography, how great is that? We look forward to meeting you all in the upcoming days as you come into the studio for a consultation!

Stay warm, and think spring!

Bridal Fair Blues

Seems a number of brides have the bridal fair blues! Today is the last show of the 'bridal fair season' and it seems like many brides and grooms as well are tired of the go round.

Regardless, we will see you at Orlando's South County this afternoon and we will all have a great time!

Enjoy your Sunday; make it restful, balancing, refreshing, and nurturing.

March Madness

Madness? I personally think that the Madness in March Madness must come from those of us who are heartbroken that our team has danced their last at the tournament. Surely I am not the only one was deflated when the Salukis were defeated! Upsets abounded yesterday, and if the staff weren't on full Bride Patrol today, I'm sure we'd have the opportunity to see others. Perhaps it is a good thing that we instead have the opportunity to meet with wonderful brides and grooms today. Surely we will find many who had too much Irish fun last night? While we all enjoy the basketball games, everyone we talk to is getting really excited to watch the Cards play ball in the new stadium. It all makes us remember what fun we had with some of our bridal couples last fall when we all got a chance to say goodbye to the old stadium. With the first day of spring coming next week, opening day can't be far behind!

See many of you tomorrow at the St. Louis Best Bridal Fair at Orlando's South County, we look forward to meeting you!

Bridal Fair Weekend

We will be at the St. Louis Best Bridal Fair this Sunday at Orlando Gardens South County, the last bridal fair of the spring season. Quite a few of you are making plans to stop by and see us there-- we look forward to meeting you! We will have chocolate, what more can I say?

Have a wonderful St. Patrick's Day! Eat corned beef and cabbage (and I don't care what they say on the Today Show about how it is decidedly un-Irish), and wear your green apparel.

English Rose

Welcome to Anastasia and Greg, we are so thrilled to welcome you to the wedding family at BBP! You are both really great people and we look forward to capturing images that will surely be as beautiful as you are! It will be so much fun to have your family here from England as well, I'll have to request my favourite treat from Harrod's!

Mazeltov Monday

Mazeltov works on Monday for us all somehow! Time to take a deep breath, know that we can control just so much of life, and we merely do the best we can while respecting and honoring others.

Special congrats go out to Lauren on her Bat Mitzvah this past weekend. Lauren celebrated over Saturday and Sunday, and made everyone smile when she danced on daddy's feet!

Enjoy the sunshine and have a fantastic day!

Restful?

No rest for the weary they say.................. Bobbi continues to capture the memories of a special Bat Mitzvah today, what a wonderful opportunity to be able to share "Images from the Heart" for generations. Check back for images!

Next weekend we get to meet Kim and Mark again, and we can't wait. Prince and Hana only wish they could come and meet Miss McKenzee's folks, they've been visiting her on Kim and Mark's website and think she looks like a lot of fun!

Speaking of bridal couples websites and blogs--- what can we say, we love them! What an absolutely fabulous way to be able to share your wedding with family and friends no matter where they live in the world! Technology is grand, isn't it?

For those of you who can rest today, enjoy! Stay dry and safe in this crazy weather!

Inspiration is...............

Inspiration is obviously different things to different people. In most cases it is the "fire" that causes you to move forward, to continue forming an idea, the 'thing' that makes things happen.

In finding our new Studio space we were driven by furniture, the fabulous RED COUCHES we knew we had to incorporate into our space. They are bright red, warm, comfortable, creative, exciting, vibrant and very BBP.

So many of the spaces we looked at were just not Red Couch Studios. When we first walked into our new space, we KNEW. The red leather is now in place, it looks really great and we can't wait to welcome our clients.

Come in, sit on the leather, enjoy a cup of coffee and lets talk about your requirements for photography. Together, we will find inspiration and follow that dream!

Whither Thou Goest........

Moving to the new studio in the Central West End has given us the wonderful opportunity to talk to a lot of our clients. It is hard to express gratitude for the love, support, and encouragement we have received. Thank you all on behalf of the entire staff at BBP, we can't wait to see you all in the new location!

Changing directions is hard for all of us, and sometimes we feel ill prepared to go forward with the compass in hand. We send wishes and blessings during this transitional season for all of us to proceed ahead with:

Ystrength
Ypatience
Yperserverence
Ylove

Push on, make life happen! Don't look at the past, the past is history, look to the future and keep a positive eye. Share love with others and be your best person.

Enjoy the great sunshiny day!

Rain Rain Go Away!

Rain.......... ick. Now I know, it has been an incredibly mild winter here in St. Louis, and spring needs rain for everything to be gorgeous, but I'm sick of the rain already! Today new furniture arrived in a torrential downpour. Blech! We won't even mention the last of the studio moving, rain makes it less fun. However the light IS at the end of the tunnel!

On a bright and happy note, Fawn and Brian, we are thrilled to be able to welcome you to our wedding family! We all know that your wedding will be something special!

More wonderful news, we are getting ready to ink the contract for Liana and Kevin, again--- our warmest welcomes, we are really excited to have the opportunity to work with you.

Think warm thoughts, and spread some sunshine!

S.A.R.

Weird a title such as S.A.R. huh???????? But that has been our days for sure. Some Assembly Required. Sort of like Christmas Eve to parents, the boxes are stacked and objects that will become large intricate items come packaged in boxes the size of chewing gum! The staff at BBP is moving into our new space, and assembling LOTS of goodies. We're beginning to think the assembly will never end, much less the trips that require hauling back and forth.

The new space is shaping up however slowly---- and we can't wait to show you some photos of the new Studio. The painting has been completed, the large furniture moved in (thank heavens for movers for that task)--- and it seems that just the details remain. I think we can almost safely say that the worst is over??? Well, maybe not but that is our reality.

We will miss our kitchen space, even though there is a kitchen next door to the Studio that will serve nicely for munchies and even to help cater upcoming events. We did bring the coffee pot and have that set up so when you come to see us for a session or a visit we can sit and have a cup of joe!

Tools in hand, we get back to it!

The photo above is of the great wall of windows we are fortunate to have, we even have a view of the Arch! How St. Louis is that?

Welcome!

Fawn and Brian---- you guys are really awesome! We are totally thrilled to be able to have the chance to work with you.

Without a doubt the best thing about this job is seeing engaged couples so much in love! To be able to follow a family through the course of their life, and to be able to share in that love as they marry, and have children---- and to be able to capture those memories is really fantastic.

Thanks to all of our clients for letting BBP photograph your lives! We appreciate you!

The weather was unbelieveable yesterday wasn't it? Such a promise of spring and summer to come. Even though we didn't have much of a winter (Tina is still whining that she didn't get to wear her great coat much) just knowing that warm weather is on the horizon makes us all giddy! Now, if we can all just hang on a bit longer until the spring teasing is over and the weatherman says the cold is gone for good...............................

Kindergarten Graduates

Bobbi reports that Prince and Hana have graduated from Kindergarten with honors---- puppy kindergarten that is! They worked with Jennifer Lamb, a really great trainer from Festus, she owns Lamb Canine Academy. They have (almost) mastered sit, down, come, stay and walking on a leash.

Last night we met Fawn and Brian, Fawn and Brian are having a special ring bearer, Fawn's wonderful Newfoundland! WOW! How great is that?

What tricks can YOU do? Do you need to have treats to perform?
