Engagement Session

It was a dreary and gray day when we met with Annie and Jason at the park; but their love for one another and the sparkle of their warm and bright personalities melded together and the photos of their engagement session are absolutely gorgeous! Jason came to us with his bride-to-be as one of our many 'second generation' weddings--- although it was his sister and brother and law who came to Bobbi Brinkman Photography first (and subsequently their beautiful children). We are so thrilled to be able to have the opportunity to capture Annie and Jason's wedding with "Images from the Heart..." we can't wait for their special day! We know it will be really wonderful with these two fantastic individuals getting married!

Have a blessed Sunday, regardless of the gray skies and rain--- make your own sunshine and pass on a blessing!

Kind Words

Kind words are balm to the soul for us all! We just had to share the wonderful letter we received today from Lindsey and Kevin, it is so sweet!

"Oh where, oh where do I even begin? It was an absolute delight to have the chance to work with your studio. The pictures are amazing. You were able to take what I told you and create a carbon copy of what I imagines. You have my eternal gratitude for your service, and my undying appreciation of you talent. You were my first choice and I want to thank you for working with us. Tina is so sweet! She has a talent for working with bitchy brides (something I could never do). I emailed one day while I was in brat mode and she helped me snap back to reality! I love her! Nell is darling. The best man had a bit of a crush and was about to put the moves on her before Kevin told him about her wedding ring. Luckily for her, that put a stop to it. At the end of the night, when most everyone had gone, the conversation turned to you. My mom, dad, mother-in-law, and father-in-law were all commenting on how much they like you. Kevin and I second that. It was great to be around an immensely talented person who is down to earth, easy to get along with, and not at all pretentious. I really don't know how I would have survived without you taking control with so many things. You wore about five different hats that night, and because of that, I maintained my sanity. I wasn't even aware of the cake issue until 12 or 12:30 that night. But because you and a few of my Mom's friends solved the problem, I didn't get a chance to have a hissy fit. Plus, we got some really good, and funny pictures out of it. So, now that I've gone on way too long, I will leave you with this.......... You have a fan for life!

Thank you so much,

Lindsey"

That was just the nicest note from a wonderful bride, and we really appreciate it! I will add that Nell isn't married so that poor best man just really blew his big chance! :)

I hope you are inspired to remember to thank those around you who make a difference and know that your words will be something cherished. We can all make an impact in the lives of others!

Happy Dance Monday

Happy Dance!
Happy Monday!
We welcome new brides and grooms, new families, and enjoy them all.
The best way though to find deep happiness is to give back. Be generous. Open your heart to those who have less and give more. It's true, somehow the more you give results in having more to share. Do something kind today-- pass on the blessings!

Gotta Laugh

Okay, okay, okay.............

some days you gotta' laugh!

The news from the Hana and Prince front (for those of you who regularly read, inquire, and seem to enjoy the puppies) is that after the last debacle of the escape and ensuing toilet papering of the upstairs of Bobbi's home----- harumph. Well, apparently, after a day of confinement Bobbi felt that Hana and Prince would be fine upstairs with all the doors closed if she would only be away a couple of hours. After all the day was gorgeous and the upstairs is so sunny and bright, the puppies really like it up there. So, you ask wincing, what happened? Coming home, Bobbi found them upstairs playing happily. Unfortunately, they had discovered a maroon fuzzy bathmat. Yes, you are right--- those of you who have puppies and who know 'the deal'---- they had some comments to make about being left alone at home, even in their beloved upstairs location. Those silly dogs tore that bathmat to shreds and then some. The entire upstairs was littered this time not with tp, but with drifts of maroon yarn. Piles of it. EVERYWHERE.

Now, lets all ask together, when will the next time be that puppies roam freely upstairs? Will they have to stay in their enclosed area in the kitchen for long? Can they change their errant ways?

Stay tuned..........................

Oh, and have a beautiful and blessed Sunday!

Into the Future

Tina reports that she has been thinking a lot about the future lately. The staff has a feeling that it is all that yard work, the grass seed nurturing and the rose feeding that has her so introspective. She says that it is just the thrill that the weather has left the cold of winter behind and the days are so bright and beautiful-- even the last couple of days that were a wee smidge gray. Ask her about what the future holds and she will smile and say that with the roses about to bloom, fresh mulch in the bed and her master's coming up this summer, tomorrows are sunny indeed. She'll be the first to smile and tell you that the current crop of brides and grooms are so much fun to work with as well.

The Bobbi Brinkman Photography family has new babies on the way, Jenn and Joey as well as Cindy and Todd are due any second. We can't wait for them to step into the world and have their first portraits taken. (Danielle and Tina can't wait to snuggle babies, count toes, and smell that sweet baby smell!)

Have a fabulous Friday---- spend some time outside and give some thought to your own coming days. Reach out and give back! We share each other's futures, be respectful and generous!

ESCAPE!

We thought it would be nice to share some images that might put your day in some sort of perspective. Just when you think that you are having a bad day...... Bobbi shares some images of hers! Apparently, when coming home from a long day at the Studio, Prince and Hana (normally stellar dogs) had escaped from their enclosure downstairs. They love to play upstairs, bask in the warm sun in the sitting room, and have puppy fun. To hear Bobbi tell it, she came home and Prince and Hana didn't greet her with the usual barks and happy talk. No, no, no----- it was silent. Their enclosure was empty and just as she left it, however the Houdini Dogs had escaped indeed and run upstairs. As we all know, there is nothing more fun to a puppy than unwinding toilet paper all over the house and generally carrying on with it. They must have been upstairs for some time to have made the mess they did (and we won't even discuss the 'other' messes found!) Bobbi says that the only good thing is that they are way too chicken to come DOWN the stairs! They might still be in the dog house!

Have a wonderful day and remember to focus on the up side!

Casey and Chris

I do and play ball was the theme of the day for Casey and Chris. They were married in a lovely ceremony April 8th. It was Casey's dream to be photographed inside the new Busch Stadium and Bobbi Brinkman Photography made her dreams come true. We send blessings to the happy newlyweds and hope that all of their dreams find reality in their future.

Poor Pitiful Puppies

No matter your religious tradition we send blessings that you enjoy this season with family and friends. Whether you are observing the second day of Passover or Good Friday we urge you to connect with the past and look toward the future with light and love.

Hana and Prince have returned from their 'necessary surgery' and are doing just fine. It is amazing how many of our clients inquire about the puppies, i.e. young adult dogs. Many of you have met these personable pooches and love them as much as we all do. They are resting at Bobbi's, and while she reports that they aren't allowing her much sleep at night--- they will soon be right as rain.

Breaking Light

Kevin and Lindsey were married on April 6th and Bobbi Brinkman Photography was honored to photograph their wedding. The day was absolutely bleak here in St. Louis, it was cold and rainy all day long, not the picture perfect wedding day. Their wedding was held at the Conservatory, always a beautiful venue and it was no different that day, although more than a little chilly! The miracle was not only that two individuals became one on that day but that as the beautiful bride walked down the aisle the sun broke through and the skies parted to blue, the effect was nothing short of spectacular!

Enjoy a few images of their wedding and send them wishes for love and light and happiness!

Intimate Details

Don't get me wrong, we love all of our weddings and are pretty crazy about our brides and grooms, they are wonderful! I'd have to say that for the most part, our weddings are larger affairs with all the bells and whistles-- and we have a blast! But we do love the smaller more intimate weddings as well as they offer us a chance to be a little more laid back and do things on a somewhat smaller scale. Today Bobbi Brinkman Photography has the honor to capture a wedding with "Images from the Heart", it is a more intimate wedding and we are so excited to be part of Kevin and Lindsey's celebration!

The weather might be a bit iffy with some of our now famous Missouri storms rolling through but I'm sure that things will work out just fine.

We will be back to share some of the special images from their day and maybe a happy story or two!

Until then, stay dry, stay safe and have a really great day!!!

Social changes

Sometimes it isn't about wedding photography, childrens portraiture, senior pics, or any of the things that the staff at Bobbi Brinkman Photography does to earn their keep. Sometimes it is about bigger things, about us all.

How many people in America do not have health care? The number is staggering and simultaneously terrible, shameful, embarrassing and deeply sad. We are arguably the greatest country on the earth, the fact that citizens of all ages do not have health insurance is something to hang our heads about.

We give an approving nod to the state of Massachusetts--- how wonderful that the Governor says he will sign a bill that all of its residents will be able to take care of their health, and have the peace of mind and resources that every American deserves. Massachusetts is in fact on the cutting edge of social change in our country. Hopefully all of the legislators will find a way to offer ALL of us tools to manage our health and live better, stronger productive lives. Hopefully we are all making it a priority to let our elected officials know what is important to us and that we expect them to lead the charge to make our dreams an American reality.

Giving Back

Giving back is a gift, a true gift that comes from that place inside your heart that recognizes that you and your loved ones are lucky--- and there are plenty of people that are not nearly as fortunate!

One of the programs we absolutely love, and are blessed to be part of is "Now I Lay Me Down To Sleep". www.nowilaymedowntosleep.org. This wonderful organization is non-profit and their services provide a professional photographer to families who are experiencing the loss of a precious baby. This is offered without charge and delivered with compassion and respectful professionalism. It is an honor to be able to serve a family during such an unbelieavably wrenching time in their life.

We thank NILMDTS for the opportunity to give back to our community in such a loving way.

Reach out and hug your children, your family, and your loved ones right now, don't waste a precious moment of this time. Count your blessings and pass some on.

Gotta' Wear Shades

The day is bright, the weather is springy, the grass is greening, the trees are leafing and Tina reports that birds are busy building their nest above the front door. (We won't go there!) Bobbi (mom to Hana and Prince) can't get over how much the puppies love walking in the park, they are new to the whole spring thing and they seem to like it a whole heckuva lot better than the cold of winter! Danielle is happy to be back coaching volleyball, and playing as well. Jeanetta can't wait to putter in the yard (Tina says please come work in mine????) and Becky is just busy as always but anxious to get outside to enjoy the season.

Wedding season kicks off full tilt as April arrives, and we join with our brides and our clients to say that we hope your April is not filled with fools but with a future so bright you gotta' wear shades!

Love and laugh, light and blessings--- share what you have and take what you need.

Happy April Fools Day! No foolin'!
