Choices

We love to meet new brides and their fiance's and families and at the bridal show on Sunday we met lots! It's always so much fun to hear about where the wedding ceremony will be held, what decision was made about the reception venue, flowers and gowns, and tuxes and transportation, it all adds up to making or breaking a day that (we hope) happens once in a lifetime. We heard a very sad story (yet again) and sadly, we hear it much more often than we would like. A bride and groom to be came up to us and asked if we were available for their wedding date. Unfortunately we were not. They shared with us that they had selected their photographer months ago and the time had come to have their engagement photographs taken, the wedding is in three months. Well, they got their photos back and they absolutely hate them. HATE them! They remarked that the photographer returned to them proofs that were just horrible. This poor couple is going to walk away from their contract with this company because they feel so strongly about not having their wedding photos taken. BBP would have loved to have helped them, but as I said earlier, we were already booked for their date. Of course we did give them a couple of suggestions as to photographers that we felt would do a good job for them but that doesn't make things any easier in the meantime. They were so upset and we felt so bad for them.

The moral of the story is choose well. Remember that Mom was right, you do get what you pay for. Every detail of a wedding has several choices, do your research and make a decision that you will be pleased with in the long run.

That's one of the reasons why we have a preferred vendor list and it makes us very happy when our couples follow it. Your day can only be as good as the professionals you hire. We have a list of the Good, the Bad, and the Ugly---- we can't force anyone to hire a particular vendor but we do make suggestions when asked.

Oh---- we will get asked WHO the photographer is. Let me tell you right now I'm not going to tell you so don't ask! :) Just know that you need to choose your vendors as well as you chose your honey!
