Angel Blankets

Our warmest THANK YOU's go to Carey T., the Mother of one of our brides!!! Carey, sent the sweetest package to the studio yesterday! Inside were sweet little blankets for our Angel Sessions. The sessions happen because Bobbi is the Regional Coordinator for "Now I Lay Me Down to Sleep", an organization that offers bereavement photography for infants. Normally we think of birth as being such a time of joy "But there is another aspect of pregnancy and birth. There is an unexpected place in this journey where some families may find themselves. When a baby dies, a world is turned upside down. There is confusion, sadness, fear, and uncertainty that cannot be explained. There is sorrow where there should have been joy. During this time, it might be impossible for families to know what they might need in order to heal in the future. This is the place where the Now I Lay Me Down to Sleep Foundation gently provides a helping hand and a healing heart. For families overcome by grief and pain, the idea of photographing their baby may not immediately occur to them. Offering gentle and beautiful photography services in a compassionate and sensitive manner is the heart of this organization. The soft, gentle heirloom photographs of these beautiful babies are an important part of the healing process. They allow families to honor and cherish their babies, and share the spirits of their lives."

Thank you so very much Carey! Your generosity and love will be a part of healing. It has been amazing to me how often the phone has rung over the past few months for calls to photograph these Angel Sessions. I mistakenly thought that this did not happen very much in our country, and certainly not as often as it does. It is just completely heartbreaking. As a studio we are honored and blessed to be a part of an organization such as NILMDTS and to help these families in crisis in some small amount.

If you would like to join Carry in helping, we can always use small bonnets, booties and bereavement blankets to give to the families we meet during Angel Sessions. They can be sewn, knit, or crocheted. The hospitals ask that they be of soft pastel colors. You can send them to the studio at:

Our next (scheduled) Angel Session is on Monday, please hold the family in your thoughts and prayers.
